About Our Grouper Trips
Our Grouper Fishing Charters target bottom structure throughout Tampa Bay and nearby Gulf waters, focusing on seasonal opportunities for gag and red grouper depending on water temperature, depth, and current regulations.
Grouper Species We Target
Gag Grouper
Most commonly encountered species, they put up a great fight and taste even better, but can only be kept during very short Florida seasons (often 1–2 weeks depending on regulations)
Red Grouper
More common when conditions allow slightly deeper drops
Excellent eating and a favorite when in season
Season Matters:
Cooler months: Grouper often move closer to Tampa Bay, making nearshore and bay-adjacent trips productive
Warmer months: Fish push farther offshore, requiring longer runs and deeper structure.
Expert Guidance
Our captains and crew are seasoned professionals with extensive experience in Grouper fishing. They possess an in-depth knowledge of local waters and the behavior of these magnificent fish, ensuring that you have the best possible chance of a successful catch.
State-of-the-Art Equipment
Goliath Grouper fishing requires heavy-duty gear capable of withstanding the tremendous force exerted by these powerful fish. We provide top-quality rods, reels, and tackle designed specifically for targeting large groupers. Our equipment is meticulously maintained to ensure peak performance.
Prime Fishing Locations
Our charters take you to the most productive fishing spots, known for their abundance of Grouper. These locations include wrecks, reefs, and other underwater structures where these fish are typically found.
Catch and Release
Goliath Groupers are a protected species, and our fishing practices are designed to ensure their conservation. All Goliath Groupers caught on our trips are released back into the water. Our crew is trained in proper handling techniques to minimize stress and injury to the fish, ensuring they continue to thrive in their natural habitat.

What About Goliath Grouper?
We get asked about Goliath Grouper a lot—and yes, they’re massive.
But here’s the deal: Goliaths are a protected species, and catching one requires extremely heavy gear and a level of strength most anglers don’t expect.
Even if you hook one, odds are you won’t land it—and if you do, it’s catch and release only.
That’s why we don’t run trips that specifically target them. If one shows up on a ledge or wreck we’re fishing, we’ll talk through your options—but we focus on fish you can fight, land, and (when in season) take home.

What to Expect on Your Trip
When you book a Grouper fishing trip with us, you can expect a day filled with excitement and adventure. Your trip begins with a warm welcome from our friendly crew, followed by a safety briefing and an overview of the day's itinerary.
We then set out to the fishing grounds, where our captain uses their knowledge and expertise to locate the best spots.
Once we reach our destination, the real fun begins. The crew will assist you in setting up your gear and provide guidance on the techniques needed to successfully hook and land a Grouper.
Be prepared for a battle, as these fish are known for their powerful runs and stubborn resistance.
