The offshore bite out of Tampa Bay has been on fire lately, whenever the weather cooperates. Red grouper and red snapper are leading the charge, with a strong supporting cast rounding out the box.

Red Grouper & Red Snapper Leading the Way

Red grouper and red snapper have been hungry on our recent offshore trips. When conditions allow us to get out to the right structure, these two have been the stars of the show.

This kind of consistency on both species together is a great sign for anyone planning an offshore trip out of Tampa Bay. It means solid odds at filling the box with quality bottom fish in a single outing.

Mangrove, Lane & Vermilion Snapper Cooperating

It has not just been the red snapper carrying the trips either. Mangrove snapper, lane snapper, and vermilion snapper have all been cooperative as well, adding nice variety to the fish box.

Having multiple snapper species willing to bite gives offshore trips a lot of flexibility, especially on days when one species is a little slower than another.
